How To Care for Your Wood Items

All of our products are 100% natural woods. Below are some tips that you should know on to keep them looking their very best.

In the Kitchen

All of our kitchen products utilize food grade finishes. They are kitchen safe. To clean, handwash using a small amount of your favorite liquid dishwashing soap and towel dry. Do not place wood items in the dishwasher.

In the Home

Home decor items such as the decorative bowls, are a breeze to clean. For everyday dusting, we recommend using a plain static dusting cloth. No need to use a furniture polish. Since wood is a natural organic material it will degrade in direct sunlight. We recommend placing home decor items in an area that does not receive harsh direct sunrays. You can expect all natural woods to become darker in appearance with age.

Softwoods such as Aromatic Cedar, will receive scratches and dings in normal wear. We recommend that you do not use these bowls as a container for your favorite spiny sheashell or pet rock collections.

Atomizers

Atomizers are ready to fill with your favorite scents. These scents can be either a home frangrance or your favorite personal perfume/cologne. To fill the atomizer, first remove the cap or lid with a simple pull. Next you will need to remove the vial and spray. Gently pull the spray upwards, this will reveal the vial. Remove vial from the wooden body of the atomizer. Firmly grasp the top of the vial below the spray head and untwist. Remove the spray unit. Using the supplied funnel, simply fill the funnel with your fragrance and fill the empty vial. Twist spray unit onto vial. Replace entire unit into the wooden body of the atomizer.

In the Office

Our writing pens have undergone testing for usability. What exactly does this mean? It means that we had several different kinds of pens go through the harshest work environment - restaurants. Several waitresses in busy restaurants, diners and bars,have used our pens for several weeks. From their feedback we selected the best of the best designs. In everyday heavy use expect that the pens will receive scratches and dings. To clean the pens simply wipe with a damp cloth.

The Ancient Kauri wood is a softer wood. We recommend storing the pen in an area where it will not crash into other heavy desk objects, such as staplers.

Fountain Pens

The fountain pens all have iridium nibs and refillable ink cartridges. No need to go hunting for ink wells, the ink is always with the pen. Upon receiving your fountain pen, you will have to start the ink flowing to the nib. With a small damp disposable cloth, gently wipe the nib. Start with the base of the nib and wipe in a downward motion. This will get the ink flowing from the small hole down into the channel and to the tip of the nib. If the pen has been stored for a while and has not been used in some time, you will need to get the ink flowing again in the same manner.
